Animal Tier List

Quick answer: There is no verified Planet Zoo 2 tier list yet. Frontier has not published appeal, popularity or conservation-credit values for any species, so any ranking you see is speculation built on Planet Zoo 1 data. This page tracks what is actually confirmed and what settles the meta.

Why no tier list yet

Planet Zoo has no combat — "tier" means guest appeal and income. In Planet Zoo 1 every animal had a published appeal rating; that data does not exist for PZ2 species yet. Ranking animals without it means inventing numbers, so we don't.

What IS confirmed

• Series-first systems — aquatic (aquarium) and flying (aviary) species are the marquee additions (Aquariums · Birds)
• Confirmed flagships — Great Hammerhead Shark, Golden Eagle, African Lion, Sumatran Tiger, Masai Giraffe (Animals List)
• Six Deluxe exclusives — four aquatic, one flying, one habitat (Editions)

What decides rankings

The real PZ2 tier list will be scored against these once Frontier publishes appeal values:

1. Appeal rating — the per-species number that drives crowd size and donations
2. Conservation credit value — Franchise-mode trading price
3. Welfare difficulty — expensive or hard-to-keep animals can be traps despite high appeal
4. Cohabitation synergy — mixed habitats earn more per square meter (Cohabitation)

This page becomes the verified tier list — re-scored against real PZ2 appeal data — the moment the game is playable.
